I don’t know about you, but waking up in a hurry, running late, and rushing out the door, just doesn’t seem to make for a great day.  

I realized that if the first thing I paid attention to, was what was going on in our world, or even the most recent social media posts, those words and images would impact the rest of my day.  But if instead, the Word of God is the first thing I give my heart and mind to, I can look forward to my day much calmer, knowing God has got me…I need not worry, nor fear, because He truly cares.

For me, I like to read my bible as well as a devotional I have.  So often just reading what the bible flips open to, or finding a specific topic that feeds my soul.  I have found such great comfort too in writing my thoughts for that particular day in my bible or in my journal so that I can look back on that day the following year and see how far God has brought me.

Another great HABIT that I have created, is the habit of Gratitude.  Do you journal? It is amazing how putting pen to paper and writing our thoughts down can really help to release them from our minds.  As I mentioned above, I also love looking in my journal, going back, and rereading it and so often the things I spent so much time worrying about never came to fruition, or that when I truly trusted God, amazing things began to happen…I encourage you to do a Gratitude Journal,   I personally have used the FIVE MINUTE JOURNAL, created by Alex Ikonn and UJ Ramdas, for several years.. (www.fiveminutejournal.com) .Every day I write 3 things I am grateful for, 3 things that would make today great, and my Daily Affirmation.  It’s incredible what happens when we program our minds to be grateful and we realize that we are looking for things to appreciate throughout our days.
